As the holiday season kicks into full swing, there's a special day that stands out from the rest- It's Giving Tuesday, a global movement that unites people in acts of generosity and kindness, encouraging us all to make a positive impact on the world. What better way to unite?!
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday, often referred to as the "global day of giving," falls on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. It's a day dedicated to giving back, whether through charitable donations, volunteer work, or other meaningful acts of kindness. The movement harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to make a difference.
Why Giving Matters
As we have seen over the years, the world can sometimes seem divided on pretty much everything. Giving has the remarkable ability to bring people together. It goes beyond borders, cultures, and backgrounds, bringing people together with a shared purpose and a sense of community. Whether you contribute your time, skills, or financial resources, your generosity can have a ripple effect, creating positive change far beyond what you might imagine.
Our Giving Tuesday Pledge
As you know, I am quite passionate about feeding babies in every way. I have jumped on board in support of the Fed Is Best Foundation this year, making a monetary donation as well as spreading the word! This Giving Tuesday, we are committed to helping to bring infant feeding information and support available for all. The infant feeding world is experiencing a shake up, and one that is long needed. Join us as we spread evidence-based information + support for all feeding methods! We believe that together, we can create positive change and create a community in which all are valued and understood in their feeding journey.
How You Can Get Involved
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in making a difference. While I hope you consider contributing to Fed Is Best, if you do not find that to be on your heart today, I totally understand. Here are some simple yet impactful ways you can contribute:
Donate to a Cause: Choose a cause that resonates with you and make a financial contribution. Even a small amount can make a significant difference.
Volunteer Your Time: If you're unable to make a monetary donation, consider donating your time. Many organizations are in need of volunteers to support their initiatives. Even if you are not able to volunteer on Giving Tuesday specifically, your time is always valued!
Spread the Word: Use your voice to raise awareness about Giving Tuesday. Share your commitment to giving back on social media, and encourage your friends and family to join in. *If you are unable to donate monetarily to Fed Is Best, this would also be a great help!!*
Corporate Giving: If you represent a business, consider organizing a corporate giving initiative. This could involve matching employee donations, hosting fundraising events, or supporting a local charity.
Final Thoughts (well.. sort of..keep scrolling!)
As the year comes to a close, let's come together to celebrate the true spirit of the season—compassion, kindness, and generosity. We have all been through a lot over the last few years. Whether you choose to give your time, talent, or treasure, your contribution matters. Let's make Giving Tuesday a day to remember, as we collectively work towards a brighter future and more compassionate world. Join us on Giving Tuesday, and let's unlock the power of generosity, unite together, and thrive!
