A2 Milk and A2 Platinum Premium Infant Formula

What is A2??

It’s a type of protein!

A2-Beta Casein to be exact

Mammal milk contains 2 main types of proteins - whey & casein.

• Whey protein - stays liquid during digestion; slightly easier to digest

• Casein protein - curds during digestion when makes contact with stomach acids; tougher to digest due to its form (in bits and pieces)

Casein is more difficult to digest than whey- which is important to know! Because…

Human Breast Milk = 60% whey, 40% casein.

Cow’s Milk = 20% whey, 80% casein.

Human babies were made to digest whey easier than casein.️ Which is one reason some babies have trouble with formulas that contain higher contents of casein or if the proteins are fully intact.

Okay, so what is A2?

• There are different types of Casein proteins

• A1-Beta Casein = contributes to larger curds

• A2-Beta Casein = leads to smaller curds, easier digestion

• Cow’s milk typically contains a mixture of A1 & A2

• Advances in research, learning, and technology have lead to the understanding of A2-Beta Casein. & good news = some cows only produce A2!

• Tolerance issues during infancy usually stem from the protein rather than the carb/sugar. There is a misconception about lactose intolerance during infancy lactose is the main sugar in breastmilk, so again, baby is designed to tolerate! A2 offers the lactose carbohydrate source + easier proteins to digest!
